A ribbon cutting ceremony on May 30 marked Sycamore Insurance Associates LLC’s move “back home” to 999 Ohio St., the location of the former Sycamore Agency, Inc.
Sycamore Insurance Associates was formed in 2010 by Donald T. “Scotty” Scott, a fourth-generation insurance provider.
Scott’s great-grandfather, Adam Miller, began the family tradition in 1932 when he founded the company that would become the Miller-Templeton-Scott Insurance Agency. Scott’s father, Donald W. Scott, joined the agency in 1963 and later became president of the successor firm, Sycamore Agency, Inc., which moved into and expanded the building at 999 Ohio Street in 1975.
The current Sycamore Insurance Associates had been located around the corner at 992 Walnut Street, Scott said. “People are familiar with the Sycamore name being in the Ohio Street location. The building was designed for our business and has plenty of room to accommodate our company’s plans for growth and expansion.”
Sycamore Insurance Associates is an independent agency offering a full line of insurance products including business insurance; employee benefits; and auto, home, life and health insurance.
